What are Core Life Skills?

According to World Health Organisation, the TEN CORE life Skills are

  1. Self Awareness
  2. Empathy
  3. Critical Thinking skills
  4. Creative Thinking Skills
  5. Decision Making Skills
  6. Problem Solving Skills
  7. Effective Communication
  8. Interpersonal Skills
  9. Coping with Emotions (like Anger Management)
  10. Coping with Stress – Stress management

Every individuals use Life skills in their day to day life without being aware that they use Life skills. Life skills training enable individuals to train them so that they could be applied in real life situation. Practicing Life skills improve the over all well being of individual at the cognitive stage, affective stage and behavioral stage. The life skills bring out an adaptive and positive behaviour in individuals.
